Hi, I’m Rachel Dixon!
I’m a Licensed Massage Therapist (NC LMBT #18089), licensed since 2019, a Birth & Postpartum Doula, and Lactation Support & Educator. I earned my degree in Health Science and completed my massage therapy education at the Center for Massage and Natural Health. My background in health science and hands-on bodywork has given me a strong foundation for understanding the body as a whole — not just treating one sore muscle or one moment in someone’s life.
But beyond the certifications and education, I’m a wife and a mom of four girls, and parenthood is a huge part of what shaped the person and practitioner I am today.
Being a mother has given me an appreciation for just how much our bodies carry — physically, emotionally, and mentally. Pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, postpartum recovery, parenting, work, stress, and simply making it through the day can all leave their mark on the body. I believe people deserve support through all of it.
My passion for birth work grew from that same place. Birth is powerful, messy, beautiful, unpredictable, and deeply personal, and I love being able to support families through such an important transition. I’m passionate about helping parents feel informed, empowered, respected, and cared for — whether they’re preparing for birth, navigating postpartum life, learning to breastfeed, or simply figuring things out one day at a time.
Outside of my professional life, I’m definitely a little bit of a creative and nature-loving nerd. I love reptiles and amphibians, building vivariums, crafting, painting, doodling, making friendship bracelets, experimenting with sourdough, and generally finding ways to turn random ideas into something fun. I’m happiest when I’m creating something, learning something new, or surrounded by my family and our ever-growing collection of animals and projects.
I’m also very much a real person behind the business. I know what it’s like to have a million things going on, to put everyone else first, to feel disconnected from your body, and to desperately need someone to say, “Hey. You deserve care, too.”
That’s a huge part of why I created Bloom Birth and Body.
Whether you come to me for a massage, birth support, postpartum care, or lactation education, I want you to feel like you’re being cared for by a knowledgeable professional who also genuinely gets it.
